Business Description

Music producers pay to upload their tracks to the website, so as to submit them for public rating. Tracks with the highest average score enter our charts. Website users (Electronic music fans, DJs & producers) can pay to download the tracks.

Other services offered include online banner advertising, music promotion, radio play, music mastering, stem mixing, graphic design & social media services for the Dance music industry. These are achieved through a network of partners.

The business is basically a one stop shop for DJs/producers of all styles of House & Dance music.

It makes approx USD $550 net profit per month & doesn't require any special skills. However, if you are a DJ, music producer or fan of House/Electronic music, this is the dream business for you!

The work to run the business mostly involves listening to & commenting on tracks on Soundcloud. Encouraging artists & record labels in the comment to upload their music to the website, to enter our charts & gain exposure.

How does your business make money?

The business has 9 streams of income, 6 of which are fully automated. Only 3 require some minor manual work. The services are as follows:

1) Track Uploads (automated)
2) Track Downloads (automated)
3) Radio Play (automated)
4) Premium Promo Service (automated)
5) Music Mastering (requires approx. just 15 mins of manual work... no special expertise required)

Why should someone buy this business?

The website has very good Google rankings! It ranks well on the front page of Google worldwide for its relevant search terms: "House Music Chart", "House Music Charts", "House Charts", "Funky House Charts", "Tribal House Charts", "Deep House Charts", "Tech House Charts", "Soulful House Charts", "Future House Charts", "Electro House Charts", etc.

The website has a large community. Approx 30,000 members, 8,000 Facebook fans, 4,100 Soundcloud followers & 5,000 Spotify Playlist followers.

We have a very good reputation in the industry. Our members love the website & have left us many nice testimonials (www.housecharts.net/pages/testimonials.php).

An Admin lady from the Philippines does all the more boring admin & bookkeeping tasks. She's paid just $40 per month & is really fantastic. The work the business owner is required to do is mostly related to promoting the business. 1.5 hrs per day (any time of the day you wish), 5 or 6 days per week (any days of the week you wish).

How can the future owner improve this business?

1) Set up Twitter page for the business
2) Set up an Instagram page for the business
3) Adsense
4) Facebook ads

If you want to think big, the currently successful business model can also be applied to other styles of music, such as Hip Hop, Rock, Pop, etc. Same website back end & front end structure & functionality, just with alternative imagery & domain names... HipHopCharts.Net, RockCharts.Net, PopCharts.Net for example.

Why are you selling this business?

The reason I'm putting the business up for sale is because I own a property, which I've been paying down the loan for over the yrs. I've almost finished paying it off & I'd now like to use my savings & funds from the sale of the business to completely pay off the mortgage.

The website has such a great community & the profits are high & consistent. It's time for me to pass the baton on to a new owner who can take the business to the next level. I think if the new owner sets up a Twitter & Instagram page for the business, the profits will only increase even further. I just don't have the energy to do & manage that myself at the moment, as my mind is set on paying off my investment property loan now & living a debt free life.

I'm Australian but currently reside in Thailand. After completing my MBA at Southern Cross University I worked in the web marketing industry for several years while DJing in nightclubs & producing music on the side. After working very hard & saving money for a number of years, I eventually bought an investment property, set up an online business (www.housecharts.net) & moved to Thailand to escape the rat race :-)
