Typely is a proofreading application that is feature-packed and easy to use. Hundreds of visitors daily.
How does your business make money?
Typely was never monetized but out users are practically begging for a premium version (with more features). Our competition charges anywhere from $9 to $29/mo.
Why should someone buy this business?
Because it ranks very well in SEO, because it is based on original software (not a copy/clone etc), because it sits at the top for proofreading and essay editor apps, because it is recommended in a lot of schools, because it has great potential.
Typely was 2nd product of the day on ProductHunt (and that's because my server went down for 4 hours due to traffic). 1200+ subscribers in mailing list waiting for new features and premium version launch.
The software has a backend written in Go and Python to make it fast and a frontend written in react with Material Ui. Everything is custom made by me over the course of 1 year +/-.
How can the future owner improve this business?
As I said, users are begging for a premium version with more features. Browser extensions, mobile integration, I received many requests to sell API access to the tool. Integrate more checks - I have a list of ideas that I'm happy to share with the buyer.
The website receives good traffic during school and exams and less during summer and weekends. It has been featured in a lot of articles, schools and it has spikes in traffic on a regular basis. It recently started receiving heavy traffic from asian countries as well and it has a wide target for monetization. It is used, loved and praised on a regular basis by teachers, students, journalists, businesses looking to improve their writing and send better emails and writers parsing and checking books and chapters. Typely has over 28 reviews on g2 and other review sites and has received 4.6 stars out of 5.
Why are you selling this business?I'm selling due to lack of time. I'm caught into 3 other big projects right now and I'm neglecting it for almost a year. Traffic is increasing, SEO positions are getting better and stronger but I can't find time to take it further.
