SchoolSmart makes Parents-Teachers Conference Scheduling a breeze. School admins, teachers and parents all love it! 5 Years of year-on-year renewal by a School District Client ($3000 avg invoice). Will make the introduction and transfer client.
An individual teacher can create an account, create a conference day, click to publish their conference day (making it available to parents to reserve time slots), and pay $2.99 for the day via Stripe.
A district can pay an annual fee to get a custom sub-site through which a parent can reserve conferences for their children with their kid's teachers.
Staff users can have admin privileges applied to them to manage the schedules and profiles of teachers at certain schools within the district.
The bulk import of conferences schedule as provided by the school is done at backend by our trained support team (two remote freelance devs who are experienced with the app and will be passed along to the new owner to continue to use if they like).

Revenue from just 1 School District Client for 5 years now (no marketing effort was done to reach more clients):

The conferences sessions happen twice a year, once in Winter, and once in Spring. On an average each teacher will have 3 conference days per session.
An individual teacher can pay $2.99 from the app to schedule a conference anytime (payment integration via Stripe).
Our main source of revenue - only due to the very limited market reach out done by us, with nil reach out to teachers - is from the School District directly, who pay an annual fee to get a custom sub-site for all their schools through which parents can reserve conferences for their children. We charge the same $2.99 per Teacher, per Conference Day, to the School District.
Why should someone buy this business?
It's a proven product, with established price points, demand, and performance.
A stable and mature SAAS product and business, that unfortunately we never gave the time and love it needs to take it a big way to the market and grow revenue, but has been a consistent quite earner for us, without putting in much effort.
Hundreds of hours of development has gone into making a stable, and every conference season that has gone by, the product has got better and better. We have been releasing features on demand continuously, driven by the feedback from admins, teachers and parents.
Our marketing and sales reach out efforts were limited to a couple of local school district (visits at the start, who have since adopted SchoolSmart as central to their Parents-Teachers Conferences management over the past 5 years, in CT, USA.
The product and the business is primed for scaling and high growth and revenue generation at the hands of someone who can devote the time and effort.
How can the future owner improve this business?
On the Sales and Marketing front:
Reach out to schools, and teachers! There are sales and contracts waiting to happen. We never put any real effort to market the product -save the one and only reach out to our local school district, who are still our client, 5 years later (we were continually updating and maintaining the product though).
On the Product Dev Front:
The current stable app is built on Ruby on Rails. There's also a Laravel + Vue.Js version about 70% completed. Existing functionality to date is left in a complete, working state. Work stopped at the following:
The admin functionality to import schedules for users in bulk (currently imported at the backend by Support).
The ability for a regular staff member to manage conference days (currently only Admins can).
The move to Laravel+Vue.js was a personal choice, not a necessitated migration. The new owner can continue to update and maintain the current stable Rails app as well.
Why are you selling this business?Been sitting on this neat app and business for quite a while now, never quite managing to give it the time and love it needs to realize it's potential in the market. While I'm busy with other projects at hand, I don't see myself carrying SchoolSmart to where it can get to. Time to hand it over to someone who can do justice to it and take it to more schools and teachers. Can be taken to a global market as well, schools across the world will have an use for this app.
