Business Description

Themelize.me is a web theme business which makes Bootstrap (& Ghost) themes. The business has been running since November 2012 and makes $400-1000/month on average from theme sales.

How does your business make money?

Themelize.me is a web theme/template business which has been running since November 2012 and has been profitable from day one making $400-1000/month on average from theme sales & affiliate sales.

Average profit in the 12 months has been around $400 but over the years we've had regular months up to $1000+.
The business sells mainly Bootstrap (http://getbootstrap.com) & Ghost (https://ghost.org) themes as the main source of income.

A great opportunity for a developer or development team to add new income streams to an existing businesses or start-up!

Why should someone buy this business?

This a great opportunity for a developer or development team or hobbyist to add new income streams to an existing businesses or start-up!
The brand is long established & takes minimal take to maintain with updates need every 1-2 months only.

Income comes mainly from theme sales & a very small amount from affiliate links over the years. Income ranges from $200-1400/month (some months we made even more). In December 2016 I did a significant update on the main AppStrap theme which has seen income grow to at least $500+ in the last few months.
In the first year of business we were more proactive with theme updates & enhancements and we were making $700-1000 or more / month on a consistent basis.

We also used to offer services related to our products which was profitable but due to time constraints we stopped with services however the potential is still there to be developed again.

How can the future owner improve this business?

All our profit has been made with next to no promotion of our themes so the potential is massive.

Regular theme updates, how-tos/articles related to the theme, freebie giveaways & paid advertising would all boost sales.

In recent months I have gotten some good feedback from buyers who states value for money & regular updates were the main reasoning behind them buying the AppStrap theme.

In the short term, you could boost income by upgrading all themes to Bootstrap 4 and adding new features.

The AppStrap theme has had a lot of interesting regarding an admin theme & page builder so would be great features to add first.

I've also had a long term idea to expand on the themelize.me website (http://themelize.me) to include how-to videos, blog posts, industry news and more, sadly I haven't managed to get this going due to a lack of time/energy but the new owner might want to explore this!

Why are you selling this business?

2 main factors make me want to sell the business on: 1) I now have 3 kids which means I have next to no “free” time and the free time I have is spent away from the computer these days. 2) I work as a developer full time and juggling the day job with personal projects & family life has become unsustainable for me & my energy for Themelize.me has dropped off. Having given 6-7 years of hard work to the project I really want to give it a good new owner who can expand and take it further.
