Herbal Supplement Resource (https://www.herbal-supplement-resource.com) was started back in 2006. As a biologist, my intention with the website was initially to provide a source of well-researched, quality information on plants, herbs and their use. I never envisaged to be the source of revenue that it is today. The website has been impacted by the Google Algorithm over the years however traffic has remained stable. It is now monetised primarily via Ezoic however a few text based ads come through AdSense. The website contains approximately 400-500 articles. Content includes an index of medicinal herbs, herbs and health condition index, the actions and properties of medical herbs, a phytochemical index and the do’s and don’t of ethical foraging. I author 80% of the content with the remainder being written by guests. I frequently received requests from guest writers seeking to have their work published, from holistic health practitioners to doctors.
How does your business make money?
Herbal Supplement Resource generates revenue through advertising - via Ezoic and AdSense.
Why should someone buy this business?
This is a well-established website which has been live since 2006. It has an incredibly strong backlink profile.
The website traffic is 90% organic (80% from the USA, Canada, and the UK). In the past three months, I have averaged 61,300 unique visitors per month.
The website is now eligible for the new Google Discover and shows up in GSC (Google Search Console) as such which is only applicable to websites that already have a good standing and “meaningful visibility”.
I am yet to undertake any paid advertising via Google Adwords, Facebook or Instagram.
I have about 35,000 followers on Tumbler and my Pinterest audience exceeds 456,000 high engaged readers.
I have approximately 6000 email subscribers and have to yet to perform extensive email marketing.
I also have a further 22,000 push notification subscribers. I do not do any affiliate marketing.
How can the future owner improve this business?
The future owner can improve the business by adding affiliate links. They can also look to build a stronger community on Facebook as I have done little work to grow Facebook followers. The future owner can further build the email list. Finally, the focus would be on adding more high-quality content as new articles publish on the website tend to rank well, and quickly.
Why are you selling this business?I do not really want to sell it as it is like my baby but I work full time and I run another online business so I simply don't have the time and energy needed to make the website grow as it deserves.
