I started Sparkle Rock Pop (SRP) in October 2016. In a world where we are always on the go and always connected, it’s important to take the time to create and savor moments of zen and mindfulness. Sometimes it’s hard to find special pieces and information that will help us with our self growth and care. That’s where SRP comes in! I sell a range of natural crystals, wellness-related tools like candles, jewelry, stationery, journals, sage and sprays and other fun miscellaneous goods such as party decor and balloons and smoke fountains on the website sparklerockpop.com and Amazon. SRP also contains a wellness blog with over 150 articles.
How does your business make money?
Sparkle Rock Pop makes money from the sale of goods on the website and Amazon. I source all products locally and try to hold minimal amount of stock. Since October 2016, SRP has achieved great success in terms of all-around growth. Over the past two years everything has been on a steady incline - sales, website visitors, 5-star customer reviews. There was also a focus on diversifying sales platforms - SRP also can be found on Amazon (with 5-star customer ratings).
Why should someone buy this business?
Sparkle Rock Pop is a fully functional Shopify Store with an upgraded theme. SRP has handled all aspects surrounding merchandising, product photography, content development, and customer service. The foundation has been built and now it’s time to grow. There have been over 150 blogs written about inventory and wellness trends to help with SEO and plug-in product photography and hyperlinks. As for social media, all of the accounts have a strong following with decent interaction. Current numbers are - 10K followers on Instagram, 202k monthly viewers on Pinterest, and 482 Facebook page likes. The Pinterest account is a valuable asset as it has consistently brought in large amount of visitors to the website. In 2018, Pinterest brought 16,434 visitors to the website and 15% off sales. The Amazon store is another very valuable asset. Amazon sales accounted for 53% of total sales in 2018.
How can the future owner improve this business?
I would focus more on marketing the company. There has been limited, but successful paid advertising on Amazon. Lots of potential to become active on Google Adwords. Organically, the top selling items have been crystals and smoke fountains. I have used this data to gear the marketing and social media accounts towards women who are in the age range of 18-55 who are interested in self-care, crystals, meditation, home decor, photography, travel, and healthy living. Top markets include: Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Chicago, and Houston. Since Sparkle Rock Pop is my side business I have never had an adequate amount of money to play around with advertising. Because of this, I have tried to make sure that customer communication has been a priority and they receive 5 star service.
Why are you selling this business?
I've decided to go back to school to get a masters degree in Clinical Psychology. Sparkle Rock Pop was started as a side business and while I love SRP deeply, I simply will not have the time needed it to grow it successfully as I go to graduate school.

Devin is the sole owner of Sparkle Rock Pop, a crystal and lifestyle shop in Los Angeles. She has been an Angeleno for the last 13 years and has immersed herself fully in the plentiful wellness scene that LA has to offer. Through Sparkle Rock Pop she encourages her customers to live a “Fun & Fulfilled” life and lives the motto herself by being an advocate for mindful living while still attending rock shows! She recently became a graduate student where she is studying Clinical Psychology. As she works to become a future therapist, she wants to pass off Sparkle Rock Pop to someone who can help it grow to its fullest potential!
