Launched in 2009, the established business offers a full-suite of intuitive website creation and design tools aimed at designers, freelancers and agencies who make paid sites for their clients. The business involves the main product as a downloadable tool and is complimented by some online tools and its users join through a subscription model. Currently there are almost 200 subscribers but the software has been delivered to thousands of clients over the years.
The business has focused on the growing and highly profitable website development niche to scale. And it has a bright future ahead with the rise of static sites and growing market trends around making fast sites. The business facilitates website creation and editing, and also appeals to the vast number of SMBs and entrepreneurs who may lack the technical expertise to create their own affordable websites from scratch.
How does your business make money?
Revenue is subscription based. Revenue is generated when a customer comes and buys the app. There are a few monthly subscribers from the early days, but we now offer exclusively yearly plans in 3 tiers.
So each month's revenue is mainly 80% yearly subscription. So you can expect that plus new sales for each month going forward.
The average order value is $300. The average LTV is $416. Customer churn rate is 4.05%.
Why are you selling this business?
I've been in online business for over 15 years and want to realise the assets by selling and moving on to other things. I want to buy a house in the countryside and start working in community based projects with a simple analog offline lifestyle. The funds from the sale will allow me to move and start again.
I honestly feel this has just scratched the surface of its potential and there is a lot of upside to grow and scale it up. But I don’t really have the expertise to take it beyond this point. A buyer with a good eye for Google Analytics and marketing skills (or can outsource the role) should have the opportunity to make a lot of money here.
